"Some aspects of automatic sequences"
Resumen:
In the late 70’s, I fell by chance on “automatic sequences” through the problem of the distribution modulo 1 of the sequence ${theta^n)_n}$ where $theta$ is algebraic over $mathbb{F}_q(X)$. Some questions were then solved, but some are still opened. Some thirty years later this theme turned out to be a clue for solving a question raised by Florian Luca and Igor Shparlinski. Since then, I happened to be connected again and again to this theme. I feel this efficient tool should be somewhere in the mind of any number theorist, and I’ll advocate it. No a priori knowledge on automata theory is required.
