Title: The limit approach to higher-order Fourier analysis

Abstract: Structural limit theories in general capture the large scale (approximative) behaviour of very large structures. Such limit theories were successfully applied in a number of fields in mathematics including graph theory, computer science, probability theory and group theory. We give a general overview on limit theories. In the second part of the talk we show how the limit approach helps in additive combinatorics with a special emphasis on "higher-order Fourier analysis" started by W.T. Gowers.
