Title: A re-statement of Collatz conjecture in terms of groups presentations.
Abstract: Let f be the function that sends n to 3n+1 if n is odd, and to n/2 if n is even. The Collatz conjecture predicts that the orbit under f of any natural number contains 1. I will present a recent result of I. Leary who showed that the Collatz conjecture holds if and only if certain group presentation presents the trivial group.
